East Coast Mortgage is a growing mortgage brokerage looking for a highly organized, proactive Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant to support our Loan Officers and help keep loans moving smoothly from application to closing.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through without being asked, communicates well, and enjoys helping Loan Officers stay organized and productive.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, tech-savvy, and comfortable managing multiple files and priorities simultaneously.
What You'll Do
Pipeline Management & Loan Support
- Keep ARIVE organized and up-to-date at all times
- Review active pipelines daily for updates, milestones, and outstanding items
- Conduct consistent pipeline check-ins and follow-ups
- Ensure loan status in ARIVE matches lender portals
- Review pipelines weekly for missing documents and stale leads
- Maintain accurate borrower notes and file documentation
- Track borrowers in credit repair and future homebuyer pipelines
- Assist Loan Officers with weekly pipeline reviews and action plans
Loan File Support
- Submit TBD loans when needed
- Order VOEs for pre-approvals when necessary
- Assist with gathering borrower documentation
- Help clear loan conditions and work alongside processors
- Complete VA residual income worksheets during pre-approval review
- Review files for completeness before submission
- Coordinate with processors, title companies, insurance agents, and other third parties as needed
- Support the loan process from application through closing
Communication & Follow-Up
- Make borrower calls when urgent action is needed
- Follow up on outstanding documentation and conditions
- Help ensure borrowers receive timely updates throughout the loan process
- Identify issues early and communicate solutions proactively
Realtor & Marketing Support
- Assist with Realtor relationship management
- Help prepare weekly Realtor update emails
- Draft marketing flyers and simple marketing materials as needed
- Assist in building internal cheat sheets, guides, and training resources
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant (LOA)
- Mortgage Processing
- Mortgage Origination
- Mortgage Banking or Broker Experience
- Real Estate Transaction Coordination (capable of knowing, but not needed)
Preferred Knowledge
- Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loan programs
- FNMA/Freddie Mac guidelines
- Mortgage compliance and documentation requirements
- ARIVE, Encompass, LendingPad, or similar LOS platforms

Important
This role requires someone who takes initiative.
We are looking for a person who naturally follows up, keeps pipelines organized, identifies missing items before being asked, and helps ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
The ideal candidate does not require constant direction or micromanagement and enjoys taking ownership of their responsibilities.

Compensation
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
