DPE Construction, Inc. is a heavy civil, general contractor that primarily operates within Yuma County. We are a family-owned company and have been in business since 1979. We have the capability to self-perform our own earthwork, hauling, paving, structural/civil concrete, and underground utility operations.
We are currently seeking applications for a highly motivated, organized individual to join our Construction Management team as an Office Engineer. The selected individual will report directly to their assigned Project Manager and be under the general supervision of the Field Operations Manager.
The overall goal of this position is to offer support to the Project Manager for the sake of successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction tasks on various job sites. There will also be the opportunity to be crossed trained in GPS systems, estimating, modeling/take-offs, or other niche positions to our company. The Office Engineer will be expected to work closely with internal management, field supervisors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with DPE Construction’s quality standards.
This is an entry level position in the construction management field and is open for full-time employment within Yuma County.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare, track, and review submittals, RFIs (Request for Information), change orders, shop drawings, and other project documents.
· Attend and participate in project meetings with both internal and external personnel.
· Assist in cost management by coding invoices and monitoring overall budget of projects.
· Assist the Project Manager in monitoring and preparing schedules for various projects.
· Ensure that the management and field team both have the latest set of construction drawings and documents.
· Support safety initiatives and help enforce compliance with DPE Construction’s safety program.
· Perform basic estimating take offs and plan calculations.
· Perform take down and set up of Trimble GPS systems.
· All other duties not explicated stated above that aid in the successful competition of the construction project.
Requirements:
· This is an entry level positions, we are willing to train the RIGHT person who is eager and willing to learn.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel is a must for this position.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a team player.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
· Willing to work long, varying hours in extreme weather conditions (i.e. excessive heat).
· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
