Job Summary

The Engineering Technician – Electrical Assembly & Testing supports engineering and manufacturing by assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and documenting electrical assemblies and LED lighting products. This role also develops work instructions, supports new product introductions, trains production personnel, and works cross-functionally to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble LED products and electrical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical assembly specifications, work instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform functional testing, verification, and troubleshooting of products and assemblies to ensure they meet engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
• Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Develop, establish, maintain, and continuously improve production procedures, work instructions, and assembly methods.
• Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet company and customer standards.
• Train, mentor, and support production personnel on assembly techniques, testing procedures, quality standards, and best practices.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with Management, Engineering, Planning, and Production teams to achieve production goals and reduce process variation.
• Assist in troubleshooting production and assembly issues while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, quality requirements, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate production, testing, quality, and training documentation.
• Support Engineering with new product introductions, prototype builds, engineering validation, and process validation activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production assembly, electronics assembly, or electrical assembly.
• Experience with electrical assemblies - Required
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience performing product testing, troubleshooting, and documenting test results.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Experience with quality inspection methods and production processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and mentor others in a production environment.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic manufacturing software is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement principles.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, manufacturing documentation, and controlled work instructions.
• Experience supporting new product introductions (NPI), prototype builds, or engineering change implementation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to assemble small components, perform testing, and use hand and power tools.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
