Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to design, develop, and implement EPIC applications aligned with organizational needs.
• Manage system configurations, updates, and customizations within EPIC modules to enhance functionality and user experience.
• Develop and maintain interfaces between EPIC and other enterprise systems using APIs, HL7, FHIR, and other web services standards.
• Conduct solution architecture planning for new projects, ensuring scalable and secure integration within existing IT infrastructure.
• Perform troubleshooting support for complex technical issues related to EPIC applications, including system outages and performance bottlenecks.
• Support software implementation efforts by participating in SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) activities such as testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Maintain version control and configuration management for all application development activities using tools like Git or Jenkins.
• Monitor system security protocols including cloud security measures, vulnerability assessments, firewalls, VPNs, and system hardening practices.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing DevOps practices like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes orchestration, and load balancing strategies.
• Provide technical guidance on system design considerations involving service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices architecture, and enterprise solutions implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
• Proven experience with EPIC systems administration, configuration management, or application development within healthcare environments.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure including operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware/ESXi), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and network fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, C#, Java or Ruby on Rails; experience with scripting languages like Bash or Shell Scripting is advantageous.
• Familiarity with API development/restful API design using SOAP or REST web services; experience integrating with Salesforce or Pega systems is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with database management including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases like MongoDB; knowledge of PL/SQL or T-SQL is beneficial.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, system hardening techniques and information security best practices.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies utilizing tools such as Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Kubernetes container orchestration is desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently while maintaining high levels of service orientation.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $136,000.00 per year
