Position Summary:
Performs a wide variety of assembly operations on electro-mechanical parts and assemblies
Essential Functions:
- Able to build a basic, geared system pedestal i.e. PG-05xx
- Able to perform backlash on dual drive and Sumitomo style gearboxes with minimal assistance
- Able to freehand holes for dowel pins and machine motor keys
- Able to level azimuth axis on three points without assistance. Able to level on four points with assistance
- Able to set runout on a drive gear or encoder ring with assistance
- Has a basic understanding on when to apply sealants to prevent water intrusion, requires some assistance
- Able to crimp lugs without assistance and read electrical schematics
- Basic understanding for mechanical functions
- Able to execute tasks using a general guide
- Interprets and follows blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Mechanical assembly of antenna systems and sub-assemblies, gearboxes, bearings, etc.
- Know how to clean, assemble, and disassemble various components
- Assembles close tolerance parts and use a wide variety of hand and pneumatic tools
- Some work to be performed requires heavy lifts involving the use of cranes, forklifts and man lifts
- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications
- May also be assigned to small assembly detailed work
- Some Harnessing, Crimping and Soldering may be required
- Some Machining, Grinding, Deburring may be required
- Assembly Touchup and Finalization required
- Experience with hand tools, epoxy, chemicals, adhesives, calipers, depth, mic, etc.
- Responsible for inspecting work
- Interfaces with engineering, quality assurance, and test personnel
- May be required to assist in training of new assemblers
- Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Environmental Conditions
- Indoors in normal manufacturing environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, and fumes
- Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
- Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours in order to meet customer deadlines
- May move from one work location to another occasionally

Pay: $27.16 - $35.67 per hour
