As a Traffic & Production Operation Coordinator at Traxys Processing Inc, you will play a crucial role in a managing and coordinating the logistics and transportation of raw metals, ensuring the efficient movement of goods from suppliers to customers, and daily involvement with the plants production operations. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, logistics and compliance regulations within the raw metals trading industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Logistics management:
* Work closely with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and logistic providers to optimize transportation routes and costs.
*Handle incoming shipments to the plant including customs clearance and drayage.
2. Documentation and Compliance:
* Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading customs documentation, and export/import permits.
*Process invoices related to raw materials and customer delivery
3. Communication and Coordination:
* Serve as a liaison between suppliers, transportation providers and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.
* Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules and any potential delays.
4. Inventory Tracking:
* Monitor and track inventory levels at plant. Complete monthly inventory count and reconciliations.
* Processing daily production records, verify reports, and enter the information into electronic systems
5. Cost Optimization:
* Work to optimize transportation costs while maintaining service levels and delivery timelines
* Evaluate and negotiate transportation contracts and rates with carriers.
*Assist with plant cost efficiency projects and assist with supplier searching for consumable products at the plant
6. Financial Performance Analysis:
* Analyze transportation and logistics performance metrics.
* Implement improvements based on data analysis to enhance overall efficiency.
*Prepare monthly reports on the plants performance. Track KPIs and develop dashboards for management.
7. Foreign Trade Zone
*Handle the weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks related to the plants Foreign Trade Zone
8. Commercial
*Take part in customers visits raw material supplier searches and audits, and increasing commercial opportunities with greater experience and understanding of the business.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, finance, business or a related field preferred.
· Proven experience in traffic coordination, logistics or supply chain management, preferably within the physical commodities trading industry.
· Familiarity with international trade regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
· Strong communication and negotiation skills.
· Detail oriented with excellent organizational and problem solving abilities.
· Proficient in relevant software and tools for logistics and supply chain management.
