The Maintenance Coordinator/Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading maintenance operations across five e-scrap recycling facilities by coordinating maintenance activities, supervising Maintenance Technician I and II personnel, and driving equipment reliability initiatives. This position serves as the primary liaison between plant operations and the Director of Production Technology to ensure equipment performance, standardization, and continuous improvement across all locations.

The role combines maintenance leadership, engineering principles, project management, and reliability engineering to maximize equipment uptime, reduce maintenance costs, improve safety, and support future operational growth. 1 to 2 weeks of travel a month.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Multi-Site Maintenance Leadership

• Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across five e-scrap recycling facilities.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop Maintenance Technician I and II personnel.
• Establish maintenance priorities and allocate resources based on operational demands.
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and consistently across all locations.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex equipment issues.
• Assist facilities during major breakdowns, shutdowns, and emergency repairs.

Maintenance Planning & Coordination

• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize production disruptions.
• Standardize maintenance procedures, PM frequencies, and work instructions across all facilities.
• Develop and monitor maintenance KPIs including:
• Equipment uptime
• Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF)
• Mean Time to Repair (MTTR)
• PM compliance
• Maintenance cost per operating hour
• Manage maintenance work orders and ensure accurate documentation within the CMMS.

Equipment Reliability & Engineering

Provide technical leadership for equipment used in e-scrap recycling operations, including:

• Industrial shredders
• Conveyor and sorting systems
• Dust collection systems
• Material handling equipment
• Magnetic separation systems
• Balers and compactors
• Hydraulic systems
• Air compressors and utility systems

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting root cause failure analyses (RCFA)
• Identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing corrective actions
• Developing equipment standards and specifications
• Improving equipment reliability and maintainability
• Developing spare parts strategies and critical inventory lists
• Creating and maintaining equipment documentation and drawings

Capital Projects & Continuous Improvement

• Support the Director of Production Technology in capital planning and equipment investments.
• Lead maintenance-related capital projects from conception through implementation.
• Assist with:
• Equipment installations
• Facility modifications
• Process improvements
• Technology evaluations
• Vendor management
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and implementation plans.
• Identify opportunities to improve:
• Equipment reliability
• Process efficiency
• Safety performance
• Maintenance labor utilization
• Operating costs

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide coaching and technical training to Maintenance Technician I and II personnel.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Establish maintenance skill development plans and career progression pathways.
• Promote accountability and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between maintenance and operations teams.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support:
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs
• Machine guarding initiatives
• Arc flash safety practices
• Confined space procedures
• Hot work procedures
• Participate in safety audits and incident investigations.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout all facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Manufacturing Engineering
• Engineering Technology
• Related technical field

Equivalent industrial maintenance leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Experience supporting multiple facilities or large industrial operations preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
