Product Engineer (Manufacturing)

Overview
We are seeking a Product Engineer to join a globally recognized manufacturing organization near High Point, NC. This role is critical to driving product innovation, cost optimization, and successful product launches across a well-established product portfolio.
You will take ownership of both new and existing product lines, working cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant products to market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Launch & Development
- Lead and support end-to-end product launches, from concept through commercialization
- Partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth product introduction and scalability
- Drive innovation through prototyping, validation, and testing
Value Engineering & Cost Optimization
- Conduct value engineering initiatives to reduce cost while maintaining or improving product performance and quality
- Identify opportunities to eliminate waste, optimize materials, and improve manufacturability
Supplier Collaboration
- Work closely with global suppliers to source high-quality components and materials
- Drive cost savings initiatives, supplier performance improvements, and product quality enhancements
- Support supplier selection, qualification, and ongoing development
Regulatory Compliance Engineering
- Ensure all products meet regulatory and compliance standards (industry, safety, and environmental)
- Lead compliance efforts for new and existing products, including documentation and testing requirements
Product Lifecycle Ownership
- Own the process of upgrading and transitioning existing products into new product lines or platforms
- Continuously improve legacy products to meet evolving market, cost, and regulatory demands
Quality, Testing & Analysis
- Develop and validate test methodologies for product and process performance
- Utilize statistical analysis to drive data-based decisions and improve product reliability
- Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment across all stages of the product lifecycle
- Support production with technical expertise to resolve issues and improve processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
- (Master’s degree preferred)
- 4+ years of experience as a Product Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- 4+ years of experience in new product development and product launches
- Strong background in value engineering and cost reduction initiatives
- Experience working directly with suppliers and global sourcing teams
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and product certification requirements
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Minitab Experience is a plus
Proven experience with:
- Root cause analysis methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, etc.)
- Statistical analysis and data-driven decision making
- Product testing, validation, and quality systems
Pay: Up to $85,000.00 per year
