Job Title: Material Flow Engineer

Job Summary

MS Companies is seeking a highly motivated Material Flow Engineer to design, optimize, and improve material flow systems within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This individual will lead initiatives that improve warehouse logistics, production material delivery, and overall manufacturing efficiency through Lean principles, automation, and advanced material handling technologies.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in automotive manufacturing, material handling system design, PFEP development, and lean material replenishment strategies. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact while supporting advanced manufacturing operations and future product launches.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
• 8+ years of material flow engineering experience (6+ years with Master's or equivalent experience)
• Experience in automotive or other high-volume manufacturing environments
• Proven experience designing and implementing material handling systems
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and simulation software
• Experience developing and maintaining Plan for Every Part (PFEP)
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles including pull systems and Kanban
• Ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience implementing eKanban material replenishment systems
• Experience with AGVs, AGCs, tugger systems, and fork-free material delivery
• Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Experience with kitting and sequencing operations
• Familiarity with material tracking technologies
• Experience developing ROI and capital equipment business cases
• Strong project management experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design and optimize material flow from warehouse to production point-of-use
• Develop and implement lean material replenishment systems including eKanban
• Create and maintain warehouse and production layouts using AutoCAD
• Manage PFEP data including packaging, transportation, inventory, and delivery methods
• Lead implementation of pull systems and optimized inventory strategies
• Perform static and dynamic material flow simulations to identify bottlenecks
• Manage material handling equipment projects from concept through installation
• Evaluate AGVs, forklifts, tugger systems, carts, racks, and automation solutions
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, IT, Purchasing, and Suppliers
• Present business cases, capital requests, and continuous improvement initiatives to leadership
