The D. E. Shaw group seeks an analyst to work closely with a team of attorneys and compliance professionals to help ensure the firm’s business activities are conducted in strict accordance with regulatory requirements. This position offers the opportunity for broad exposure to the firm’s trading, operations, and software development groups, as well as the chance to handle real-time issues related to the firm’s suite of global investment products in a fast-paced, constantly evolving regulatory environment.
What you’ll do day-to-day
Prepare regulatory filings, collaborate with compliance staff to support the firm’s business units, design and review automated compliance monitoring reports, and ensure adherence to compliance policies.
Work on long-term projects to maintain the firm’s high standards of compliance with new and existing regulations.
Who we’re looking for
A bachelor’s degree or higher, along with excellent analytical abilities, drafting and verbal communication skills, and well-developed numeracy.
One to four years of experience, along with a demonstrated record of achievement in academic and professional endeavors.
Organizational and project management acumen, a keen eye for detail, and an impressive work ethic.
Prior experience in paralegal work, accounting, financial operations, compliance, or investment management is beneficial but not required.
The expected annual base salary for this position is $110,000 to $130,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
