Position Overview:
We are seeking a senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with deep domain expertise in Global Custody, FX Transactions, and Post-Trade Operations to join our technology and operations team in New York. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Business Operations, Product Management, and IT Teams to enhance, scale, and maintain our global custody platform. You will lead business requirements gathering, workflow mapping, system configuration, and testing validation to ensure seamless settlement, asset servicing, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Engineering & Process Design: Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements (BRDs, FRDs, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria) for global custody applications, FX data lifecycles, corporate actions, and reconciliations.
Workflow Mapping: Design "As-Is" and "To-Be" process maps and data flows across global markets and multi-asset classes using Visio or equivalent diagramming tools.
System Integration & Configuration: Support data mapping and validation between upstream/downstream systems for trade capture, clearing, settlement, safekeeping, and client reporting.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Define test strategies, write comprehensive test plans/cases, and execute SIT/UAT for key custody functions. Manage defect triage, root-cause analysis, and sign-offs for production releases.
Production Support & Continuous Improvement: Monitor application performance, troubleshoot complex functional issues, and implement workflow optimizations to improve system stability and operational controls.
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary technical liaison between front-to-back operational teams, internal IT, and external third-party software vendors (e.g., Broadridge).
Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure all custody and settlement workflows comply with regulatory frameworks and risk controls across global capital markets.
Key Skills Required to Execute This Role:
1. Domain & Industry Expertise (Must-Have)
- 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience within Financial Services, specifically focused on Global Custody, Securities Services, or Post-Trade Operations.
- End-to-end functional knowledge of custody lifecycles: Settlements, Corporate Actions, Income Processing, Safekeeping, Reconciliations, and Client Reporting.
- Hands-on familiarity with FX transactions, trade lifecycle, and cross-currency processing.
2. Technical & Protocol Standards
- SWIFT & ISO Messaging: Practical understanding of ISO 15022 and ISO 20022 standards for trade settlement and corporate actions processing.
- Data Querying & Analysis: Proficiency in SQL for data validation, backend troubleshooting, and testing verification.
- Custody & Asset Servicing Systems: Direct experience with vendor platforms such as Broadridge, FIS, or proprietary global custody engines.
3. Systems Delivery & Process Engineering
- SDLC Methodologies: Demonstrated success in Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall environments using tooling like ServiceNow or Jira/Confluence.
- Documentation & Modeling: Advanced skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio for mapping data lineages and complex operational workflows.
- Testing Oversight: Experience managing end-to-end SIT/UAT cycles, automated/manual test execution, and maintaining test-case libraries.
Candidate Profile & Competencies
Education: Bachelor s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with global operational leads, senior IT leadership, and external partners.
Ownership Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving capability with the agility to manage tight delivery milestones in a fast-paced banking environment.
