This Healthcare Professional will be employed by the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine (CCPM) Biobank Laboratory at the University of Colorado Denver Anschutz Medical Campus. The laboratory strives to provide personalized medicine to all the Biobank’s consented participants. Care that promotes treatments based on unique genetic structure is one of our goals. We play an important role in moving medical research forward. To become an integral part of this team, daily duties will include a variety of laboratory functions, including but not limited to the following:
Laboratory procedures including analysis of clinical and research samples by molecular biology methods
Genetic testing of human samples in a clinical laboratory environment
Specimen management, including accessioning and sample tracking
DNA extraction, quantification, and quality control assays
Various molecular genetic and genomic assays including microarray, Sanger sequencing, genotyping, data analysis, assay result interpretation, and proper maintenance and management of laboratory records
General laboratory duties to include reagent lot validation, inventory management, laboratory maintenance projects, quality control, and quality assurance activities
Knowledge and ability to work in a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act) Accredited laboratory as well as compliance with the CAP (College of American Pathologists) in all laboratory duties
Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other mandated OIT (Office of Information Technology) regulations
A bachelor’s degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
Professional level experience in a clinical laboratory setting
Training in biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and/or genetics with a theoretical understanding and experience in interpretation of molecular assay results
Previous biobank or high-throughput laboratory experience a plus
Reliable, punctual, motivated, pays attention to details, diligence in data recording/documentation, strict adherence to established assay protocols and laboratory policies/procedures, and strong organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
Outstanding customer service skills.
Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $60,257 - $66,000
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
