Job Summary
To evaluate, plan and implement speech-language therapy services for students with complex medical and communication needs. A strong emphasis is placed on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), interprofessional collaboration, and adherence to documentation standards.

RRequired Skills/Abilities:

• Experience working with students with complex communication needs (CCN).
• Advanced knowledge of AAC tools, software, and devices. Familiarity with Tobii Dynavox, PRC and Talk to Me Technologies or specialized AAC methodologies is a plus
• Experience in dysphagia management and therapeutic feeding preferred.
• Technology literacy for daily documentation, AAC device programming, caseload management and collaboration.
• Computer literacy in Office 365 Applications

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited Speech/Language
• Pathology program; PDE certification: Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired
• Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech and Hearing Association; PA State Licensure
• Experience in therapeutic feeding

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to safely position students in their wheelchairs or other adapted equipment.
• Ability to transfer, lift, and/or stand students
• Must be able to lift, up to 35 pounds at times.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Speech Assistant & Aide

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assess, develop, and implement individualized speech, language, communication, AAC, oral-motor, feeding, and dysphagia interventions aligned with student needs and IEP goals.
• Provide direct therapy services, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Evaluate, program, and support AAC and assistive technology systems, including securing funding and training students, families, and staff.
• Develop and oversee safe feeding plans, collaborate with medical and educational teams, and provide feeding-related training and support.
• Participate in evaluations, IEP meetings, hearing screenings, and multidisciplinary team planning.
• Maintain accurate documentation, evaluations, progress reports, therapy records, and parent communications in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with families, educators, therapists, and other stakeholders to support student success.
• Supervise and support Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) and student interns as assigned.
• Maintain therapy equipment, AAC devices, and feeding equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
• Participate in professional development, committees, and organizational initiatives to support continuous improvement and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday (8:45a-4p)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
