Job Summary:
We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist (GI Physician) to join our growing medical team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with gastrointestinal disorders, including diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and prevention of digestive system diseases. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient care with opportunities for endoscopic procedures and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, etc.).
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and best practices.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR.
- Educate patients and families regarding GI conditions, treatment options, and preventive care.
- Participate in call coverage as scheduled.
- Comply with all regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Support clinical growth initiatives and service line development.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Valid medical license (or eligibility) in the practicing state.
- DEA registration (or eligibility).
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and procedural skills.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hospital-based or group practice setting.
- Interest in program development or quality improvement initiatives.
- Subspecialty interest (IBD, hepatology, advanced endoscopy) is a plus.
