Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, assists doctors and Nuclear Medicine Technologist with patient handling and Radiology accessories. Supervision is received from Department Administrator, Assistant Department Administrator, and/or Radiology Technologist.
Essential Responsibilities:

Transport patients to and from the Radiology Department by wheelchair, gurney, or mobilize. Process a variety of exposed film by inserting into the automatic developer and re-load cassette. Performs subtraction and duplication of x-ray film. Maintains appropriate temperatures of film processors. Assists department personnel in the x-ray room with patients involving the use of daylight processing equipment. Assists personnel in the x-ray room by instructing patients concerning positioning and lifting patients; changing cassettes. Prepares contact agents for administration to patients, such as barium bag, barium cups, barium, pneumocolon bags, x-ray film oxygen tanks, etc. Responsible for the maintenance of quality control charts. Responsible for the stocking of supplies in radiology such as barium bags, barium cups, barium, pneumocolon bags, x-ray film oxygen tanks, etc. Assists with the handling of the reception desk; scheduling appointments, answering phone, making up instructions. Maintains darkroom in a clean orderly condition cleans and repairs film cassettes as required. Adheres to appropriate universal precautionary measures as outlined in the infection control manual. Performs other duties as required. Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service.
