Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑driven Inventory Control Specialist to support inventory accuracy, oversee critical stock‑related processes, and guide day‑to‑day activities of the Inventory Control Associate. This role will also be responsible for, maintaining critical warehouse supplies, including but not limited to case tape, stretch film, consumables, tools, and equipment. This role plays a key part in maintaining reliable inventory data, improving fulfillment efficiency, and driving operational excellence across the facility.
This is an hourly, non‑exempt role with standard hours of 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, but the role may require arriving earlier or staying later to support inventory counts, audits, inbound/outbound exceptions, or other time‑sensitive inventory tasks.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for coordinating inventory processes, verifying work completed by the Inventory Control Associate, and leading inventory‑related projects that impact warehouse performance. While not a people‑management role, this position includes task delegation, workflow oversight, and providing guidance to ensure inventory standards are consistently met.
This is an on‑site role that works closely with receiving, shipping, warehouse operations, and cross‑functional departments.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS/ERP systems.
· Perform and validate cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies and adjustments.
· Guide and delegate tasks to the Inventory Associate; review completed work.
· Monitor stock levels, lot dates, FIFO/FEFO compliance, and inbound/outbound accuracy.
· Collaborate closely with the Purchasing team to ensure accurate and timely inventory levels in the fulfillment center.
· Enforce SOPs and support internal audits and regulatory requirements.
· Lead inventory‑related improvement projects (slotting, bin consolidation, shrink reduction, root‑cause investigations).
· Prepare inventory accuracy, shrinkage, and KPI reports; support month‑end and year‑end valuation.
· Use RF scanners and system tools; assist with training team members on inventory processes.
