Gas / Diesel Mechanic

What is In It for Me?

• Schedule 6:30am-5:00pm (1 hr. lunch), Monday-Friday, weekends for emergencies, OT-eligible through the school year
• Competitive base pay $23 + an hour.

Job Duties:

• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid level checks.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and computer software.
• Repair and replace faulty components such as valves, pistons, bearings, and injectors.
• Perform engine tune-ups to improve performance and efficiency.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for our fleet.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Other Duties as assigned.

How Do I Start? What is Required?

• Fill out the on-line application and a Company representative will call you to get the process started!
• Must have your own basic hand tools (Company provides major equipment such as diagnostic scan tools)
• You must have or be willing to get a Class 7 PA Inspection License
• You must have (or we will provide you free training to get):
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger, School Bus, and Air Brake Endorsements.
• Must have and maintain the following to be able to drive a school van or bus:
  • A satisfactory driving history based on review of state motor vehicle records.
  • A satisfactory criminal history and child abuse history checks as required by law and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Passing an initial and routine annual school bus driver physical w/ tuberculosis testing as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  • Participate in and pass pre-employment and on-going random drug and alcohol testing throughout employment.
