Job Description:
The Market Sales Specialist is a hybrid sales and marketing role focused on growing and managing Scott Industrial Systems' (SIS) national network of house accounts (fluid power resellers and distributors). This inside sales position emphasizes proactive account management, relationship building through phone and email, and ownership of WPCRM to track account activity, leads, and pipeline performance.
In addition to account growth, this role leads key marketing initiatives by planning and executing email, Google Ads, and social media campaigns, managing the DotDigital platform, creating branded marketing materials, and overseeing inbound lead tracking and reporting. The position also manages the company's eBay store to sell deadstock inventory and may travel 1–2 times per year to trade shows and remote offices.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to build relationships while working closely with the Customer Experience team, Outside Sales, and Business Development Managers to drive growth.
Key Responsibilities
House Account Management & Growth
- Manage and grow the national house account list of resellers and distributors through targeted email and phone marketing campaigns.
- Identify opportunities for increased revenue and engagement within existing house accounts.
- Partner with sales teams to transition and develop house accounts into active, revenue-generating customers.
- Support strategic account visibility and activity tracking within WPCRM.
Lead & CRM Management (WPCRM / Interlynx / RFQs)
- Oversee all inbound leads, vendor submissions, Interlynx leads, and website form submissions.
- Ensure timely lead routing, assignment, and follow-up across marketing, inside, and outside sales teams.
- Own and optimize WPCRM usage, reporting, and data integrity as the platform administrator. Assist users with technical issues while working directly with WPCRM’s support team.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for leads, pipeline, and conversion tracking.
- Improve visibility into quote activity, bookings, and opportunity progression.
BDM Alignment (Mobile & Industrial)
- Partner with the Mobile BDM and Industrial BDM teams to align on lead flow, account ownership, and growth strategy.
- Provide insights into pipeline performance, lead quality, and conversion trends.
- Support BDM initiatives with reporting, account tracking, and opportunity visibility.
- Support stocking programs as opportunities to grow national house accounts and gain gross margin.
Marketing Campaign Development & Execution
- Identify target market segments and products to promote through email campaigns, Google Ads, and social media.
- Coordinate and execute marketing campaigns from concept through completion, as outlined by company leadership.
- Build and manage vendor marketing relationships, coordinating co-op campaigns and shared marketing initiatives.
- Manage the DotDigital marketing platform, including campaign builds, list segmentation, and performance reporting.
Creative & Brand Execution
- Create original marketing designs for digital and print use that follow the SIS brand marketing guidebook.
- Assist in managing and creating all external marketing creative, ensuring consistency across channels.
- Coordinate print and digital production timelines to keep campaigns on schedule.
- Assist in producing video and multimedia projects.
Deadstock
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team and developers to maintain accurate information and inventory turnover.
- Manage and grow SIS deadstock sales channels, including the eBay store and other applicable platforms.
- Handle order entry for all eBay orders.
- Maintain product listings, pricing strategy, and inventory tracking.
- Analyze profitability (cost, shipping, margins) and optimize listings for revenue recovery.
- Coordinate order processing procedures and ensure consistent execution.
- Apply growing industry and product knowledge to move deadstock inventory and identify buyer segments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the Customer Experience team and Outside Sales team to ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Report on marketing and account-development activity to the VP of Customer and Brand Strategy.
Key Metrics / KPIs
Lead Management & CRM
- Lead response time (target: under 24 hours).
- Lead-to-opportunity conversion rate.
- CRM data completeness and accuracy.
- Percentage of leads properly assigned and followed up on.
Revenue & Pipeline
- House account revenue growth (dollar amount and percentage).
- Pipeline value generated from inbound leads.
- Opportunity-to-win conversion rate.
- Quote visibility and tracking accuracy.
BDM Support
- Lead utilization rate by BDM team.
- Conversion rates by lead source.
- Pipeline contribution from Mobile vs. Industrial segments.
Deadstock / eBay
- Monthly deadstock revenue.
- Inventory reduction (aged stock).
- Profit margin per item/listing.
- Listing conversion rate.
Qualifications
- Entry-level role; some prior experience in marketing and/or sales required (internships, coursework, or professional experience considered).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable making outbound calls to build and maintain business relationships.
- Interest in or aptitude for learning industrial/technical products (hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronic controls).
- Working knowledge of, or willingness to quickly learn, CRM platforms (WPCRM), email marketing platforms (DotDigital), Google Ads, and social media management.
- Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with adhering to brand guidelines for digital and print materials.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple campaigns and accounts simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and collaborative, able to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and vendor partners.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (eBay) and inventory/deadstock management.
- Prior exposure to industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a related B2B environment.
