Sign Designer

Adcorp Signs, Inc. is a small, woman owned sign shop with an excellent reputation serving in the sign industry for over 37 years. Adcorp is looking for a sign installer with 1 to 5 years’ experience. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are also required.

Adcorp is looking for a hard-working and dedicated person who is interested in long term, full-time employment. Applicant will be required to work from 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. Other shift times may be acceptable, if approved by Adcorp’s Operation’s Supervisor. Employees must be able to take instruction and complete tasks in a timely manner. New hire must be willing to learn new skills.

Smoking will not be permitted inside the shop. Adcorp is a home based business located in White Hall, MD. Formal dress is not required. Jeans, T-Shirts and tennis shoes are permitted. Open-toed shoes cannot be worn inside the shop.

Starting salary will be $28.00 to $32.00 per hour, depending on the applicant’s experience. After the training period there will be a 3 month review at which time your salary may be increased based on your progress and performance.

Adcorp does not offer health insurance plans, but we will pay 50% of the yearly premiums for a personal health insurance plan purchased by an employee. This accommodation will only be viable if the employee agrees to work a minimum of 36 hours per week.

A 401 K will be available at the start of employment. After 6 months of employment 2 weeks of paid vacation will be available. An additional 3rd week of paid vacation will be available after 3 years of employment and a 4th after 5 years. Vacations may not be able to be taken at the same time as your coworkers during summers and around holidays. Vacations must be planned at the start of each year with your coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Install interior and exterior signs, including channel letters, monument signs, wall graphics, dimensional lettering, ADA signage, post and panel signs, banners, vinyl graphics, and window graphics.
• Read and interpret work orders, shop drawings, blueprints, and installation instructions.
• Prepare installation sites and verify measurements prior to installation.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other installation equipment safely.
• Perform basic electrical connections for illuminated signs (where permitted and qualified).
• Load, transport, and unload signage while ensuring products remain damage-free.
• Troubleshoot installation challenges and make field adjustments as needed.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers on-site.
• Complete installation documentation, photographs, and project closeout paperwork.
• Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with sign fabrication and shop production when installation schedules allow.

Qualifications

• Previous sign installation, construction, carpentry, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure and interpret technical drawings.
• Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders and aerial lifts.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Forklift certified preferred.
