Citrine is looking for an experienced Arc Flash - Electrical Engineer who thrives on electrical system analysis and enjoys turning complex electrical data into practical solutions. If you're experienced with SKM Power*Tools and/or ETAP and enjoy performing short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow studies while working on diverse industrial and commercial projects, we'd love to meet you.
This position is open to remote workers throughout the United States. Preferred location of candidates within the Lakewood, Colorado / Denver metro area and offers flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. Regular travel to client sites, project locations, and company offices will be required. This is a full-time, exempt role.
Salary range: $100,000-$130,000 dependent on experience and overall qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Preform electrical power system studies using SKM Power*Tools and/or ETAP, including: short-circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, arc flash hazard analyses, load flow studies (preferred).
- Interpret study results and develop practical technical recommendations that improve system safety, reliability, and performance.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting methodologies, calculations, assumptions, results, and recommendations.
- Evaluate existing electrical distribution systems and recommend upgrades, equipment replacements, and system improvements.
- Support the analysis and evaluation of electrical power distribution systems for commercial, industrial, utility, and government facilities.
- Develop electrical calculations, one-line diagrams, construction documents, and technical specifications using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
- Apply applicable engineering codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, and other industry standards.
- Conduct site visits, field investigations, equipment assessments, and data collection to support engineering studies and design.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, utilities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout project execution.
- Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities as needed.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and technical coordination to support successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project documentation while managing multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience performing electrical power system studies, electrical system analysis, commissioning, electrical testing, or related technical work.
- Hands-on experience using SKM Power*Tools and/or ETAP to develop electrical system models and perform power system studies.
- Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, military experience, and relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Experience performing and documenting electrical studies, including: Arc flash hazard analyses, short-circuit studies, protective device coordination studies, load flow studies (preferred).
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, protective devices, equipment ratings, and power system fundamentals.
- Ability to interpret and analyze electrical one-line diagrams, equipment documentation, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Experience collecting, reviewing, and validating electrical system data from drawings, field investigations, equipment information, and client documentation.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports, study documentation, and engineering recommendations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, field assessments, and project needs.
- Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting industrial, utility, commercial, government, manufacturing, data center, or critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience with medium-voltage electrical systems and distribution equipment.
- Experience with commissioning, startup, electrical testing, or field troubleshooting including: National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, NETA testing standards.
- Experience with protective relaying, equipment coordination, or utility power systems.
- Experience working with electrical design teams and reviewing construction documents.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
