Job Description
The AI & Innovation Team is looking for a motivated intern to contribute to real-world projects at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, and connected health technologies. This is a hands-on role embedded within a cross-functional team that builds AI enabled solutions for clinical trial operations, enterprise tooling, and digital health innovation. The intern will gain exposure to the full breadth of the team's work — from applied AI and agentic systems to data pipelines, connected devices, and enterprise AI adoption — and will contribute meaningfully to active projects under the mentorship of senior team members.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to projects across one or more of the team's core competency areas (i.e., applied AI, data science, dev innovation, connected device innovation, and enterprise AI)
- Write clean, well-documented code in Python and/or other languages relevant to the assigned project
- Assist with data preparation, analysis, and pipeline development
- Support the design, prototyping, and testing of AI-enabled features and tools
- Participate in daily standups, team meetings, and agile development practices
- Document findings, processes, and technical decisions
- Present work and learnings to the team and stakeholders
Qualifications
Required
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Foundational programming skills in Python or a similar language
- Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred
- Coursework or experience in machine learning, statistics, or data analysis
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, or similar)
- Experience with SQL and database management
- Familiarity with REST APIs and web development frameworks
- Interest in healthcare, clinical trials, or life sciences
- Prior internship or project experience in software engineering or data science
