We're growing. Fast. And we need an experienced Sales Director to lead revenue growth across all US and international water industry partnerships from our Walterborough headquarters.
THE ROLE
Sales Director – Water Filtration Solutions (US & International)
Location: Walterborough, SC (HQ)
Reports to: CEO
Work Schedule: In-office in Walterborough (occasional industry trade shows)
We're looking for a self-directed revenue leader who can build a global pipeline selling to other water filtration and treatment companies and close mid-market B2B deals ($100K–$500K+) in the water industry. You'll manage all US and international accounts from our South Carolina headquarters.
You'll own the entire revenue operation. Prospecting water filtration companies, pipeline building, partnership deals, customer relationships—for all US and international water industry accounts. You set the strategy. We set the targets. If you hit them, you unlock long-term upside.
YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Generate $400K–$800K in new annual contract value (new customers + customer expansions) across all US and international territories over the first year while building a sustainable sales process.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Sales Development & Pipeline Building (40%)
- Identify and qualify 15–20 mid-market water filtration and treatment companies per quarter (water treatment manufacturers, filtration system integrators, water equipment distributors, water technology companies, industrial water solution providers)
- Conduct discovery calls, needs assessments, and partnership/resale opportunities with other water industry companies
- Build and maintain CRM pipeline with 6–12 month visibility on B2B water filtration company partnerships
- Move deals from initial contact → partnership/supply agreement signature
- Identify expansion opportunities with existing water industry partners
Consultative Selling & Technical Positioning (35%)
- Position custom filtration solutions to executives and technical stakeholders at other water companies
- Conduct product demonstrations and feasibility assessments for water industry partners (in-person and virtually)
- Partner with our engineering team on custom solutions for partner water companies
- Position QMP as a trusted technical authority and partner in the water filtration industry
- Develop case studies and partner references across the water industry
Territory & Relationship Management (20%)
- Build and leverage your network within water filtration, treatment, and industrial water sectors
- Attend 4–6 industry trade shows annually (WQA, water industry conferences, equipment expos) to identify and build relationships with water company partners
- Conduct quarterly partnership business reviews (relationship deepening, expansion opportunities, partnership growth)
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with water distributors, system integrators, equipment manufacturers, and water technology companies
- Manage partner relationships from Walterborough office
CRM & Reporting (5%)
- Weekly pipeline updates and revenue forecasting
- Monthly activity reporting
- Quarterly business reviews with leadership
WHO YOU ARE
Experience Required:
- 8+ years B2B enterprise/mid-market sales experience (industrial, manufacturing, or water/utilities preferred)
- Proven track record closing 4+ deals/year in the $100K–$500K range
- Experience managing 3–9 month consultative sales cycles
- Demonstrated ability to navigate multi-stakeholder buying groups
- Water filtration or industrial solutions sales background is a major plus
Skills You Have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication (proposals, RFPs, executive presentations)
- Ability to learn complex technical products and translate to business outcomes
- Self-motivated, independent operator (you thrive working without constant supervision)
- Proficient with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)
- Comfort with data-driven decision making and pipeline forecasting
- Consultative sales mindset (you ask questions before pitching)
Preferred:
- Existing relationships or network in the Southeast
- Experience with engineered/custom solutions sales
- Sales certification or MBA (nice to have, not required)
COMPENSATION & STRUCTURE
Here's what makes this opportunity unique:
Base Salary: $80,000/year
Phase 1: The Proving Ground (Months 1–3)
- Goal: Hit 10% revenue growth ($400K new ACV)
- Compensation: $80K base salary
- If you hit it: Move to Phase 2 (tracking toward 20% unlock)
- If you miss it: No advancement; we reassess fit
Phase 2: Building to the Unlock (Months 4–12)
- Goal: Reach 20% cumulative revenue growth ($800K total new ACV)
- Compensation: $80K base salary
- If you hit it: 1% commission unlocks permanently on all future revenue
- If you miss it: Stay at $80K base; we discuss path forward
Phase 3: Long-Term Partnership (Year 2+)
- Base salary: $80,000/year (continues)
- 1% Commission: Earn 1% on all future new revenue you generate
- Applies to: New customers, customer expansions, customer reactivations
- Does NOT apply to: Renewals without growth
- Duration: Perpetual (as long as you're with QMP)
What does 1% really mean?
- Generate $600K/year in new business → $6,000/year in passive commission
- Generate $1M/year → $10,000/year in perpetual income
- By Year 5: Potentially $15K–$20K/year in 1% commission on your customer base
Total Comp Scenarios:
If you hit $800K and sustain for 2 months:*
- Salary: $80K
- 1% commission unlocks immediately once you sustain $800K for 2 consecutive months
- Timeline: Could happen Month 9, 10, 11, 12, or beyond—whenever you hit it
Year 2+ (with 1% unlocked):*
- Salary: $80K
- 1% commission: $6K–$12K depending on new business generated
- Total: $86K–$92K+
SUCCESS METRICS (FIRST 90 DAYS)
Revenue:
- New ACV: $400K (10% growth target)
- Average deal size: $100K–$200K
- Pipeline coverage: 3:1 minimum ($1.2M qualified pipeline)
Activity:
- Discovery meetings: 8–12/month (phone, video, and in-office with water company prospects)
- Partnership proposals submitted: 6–8/quarter
- Industry trade shows attended (WQA, water conferences): 1–2 per quarter
- Water company partner relationship calls/meetings: 15–20/quarter
Quality:
- Customer CSAT: 8.5+/10
- Forecast accuracy: ±10% monthly
- CRM discipline: 95%+ data accuracy

TRANSPARENCY
This role is based in Walterborough, SC and here's how the 1% unlock works:
- Phase 1 (Months 1–3): Hit $400K (10% growth). If you do, you move to Phase 2 and keep building.
- Phase 2 (Ongoing): Build toward $800K (20% cumulative growth). The moment you hit $800K AND sustain it for 2 consecutive months, you unlock 1% commission immediately—could be Month 9, 10, 12, or whenever you get there.
- Phase 3 (Once 20% Hit): You have perpetual 1% on all future revenue. This aligns our interests—you want to grow global revenue; so do we.

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
