The Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing activities within tobacco operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of production plans. This role provides shift leadership, manages team performance, and drives results in safety, quality, productivity, and delivery while ensuring compliance with ISO standards, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Responsibilities
- Act as Team / Shift Lead, ensuring safe and efficient execution of daily production activities.
- Lead and manage team performance, setting expectations, providing feedback, and addressing performance gaps.
- Execute Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and follow up on actions and priorities.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Develop, maintain, and execute a Skill Matrix to ensure workforce capability and flexibility.
- Monitor production performance against plan, including OEE, volume, and schedule attainment.
- Ensure strict adherence to ISO standards, OSHA regulations, and GMP requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture, reporting and addressing unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Escalate and support resolution of quality issues, including PQRS and consumer complaints.
- Participate in incident investigations, LTA prevention activities, and safety observations.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, EHS, and CI teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and standardization within the team.

Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or Associate Degree required; technical or engineering background preferred.
- Bilingual: English / Spanish
- 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, with prior team or shift leadership experience preferred.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (NGP, tobacco, pharma, consumer goods).
- ISO standards
- OSHA regulations

- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage teams in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading teams tobacco manufacturing
- Lean / Continuous Improvement or 5S experience
- Strong conflict resolution and coaching skills
