Senior Software Engineer – Albany, NY

This is an on-site position based at our Albany, NY office. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of complex technical challenges, lead architectural decisions, and help shape the future of our leading e-Discovery platform. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and distributed systems, and thrives in a collaborative environment where quality and craftsmanship matter. You will work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver impactful features and mentor the engineers around you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications and services
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to engineering standards and best practices
• Own complex features end-to-end, from requirements through deployment and monitoring
• Perform and guide code reviews, raising the quality bar across the team
• Troubleshoot and resolve challenging production issues, including performance and reliability concerns
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and constructive feedback
• Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and estimation as a technical voice on the team

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and SQL
• Proven ability to design and build distributed, cloud-hosted applications at scale
• Deep understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, and testing methodologies
• Experience with services, message queuing (RabbitMQ or equivalent), and caching layers (Redis or equivalent)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience influencing technical direction across a team
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and elevate team performance
• Experience working in Agile development environments
