ChildrenFirst Health Care System is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated Healthcare Accountant / Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance Department.
This position plays a key role in supporting the financial health of our organization through accounting, financial reporting, operational analytics, budgeting, and business intelligence. What You'll DoAccounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and credit card transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
Financial Analytics & Reporting
- Create recurring and ad hoc financial and operational reports for executive leadership.
- Extract, analyze, and interpret data from multiple financial and operational systems.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and performance reports using advanced Excel.
- Analyze financial trends, variances, reimbursement, and operational performance.
- Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
Revenue Cycle Support
- Assist with revenue recognition and reimbursement analysis.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and billing activity.
- Monitor collections, aging reports, and cash flow.
- Partner with billing and operations to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Understand healthcare reimbursement methodologies, including Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, and commercial insurance.
Payroll & Expense Management
- Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
- Review departmental expense allocations.
- Assist with budget monitoring and variance reporting.
Compliance & Audit
- Assist with annual audits and financial reporting.
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting standards.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits and regulatory reporting.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes.
- Recommend automation and reporting improvements.
- Participate in special projects and financial initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of two years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Healthcare or home health accounting experience.
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, or commercial insurance reimbursement.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
- Experience creating financial dashboards and ad hoc reporting.
- Experience with healthcare billing or revenue cycle operations.

Background Screening
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Level II background screening in accordance with Section 435.12, Florida Statutes.
