Engine Instructor Positions– Full-Time/Part-Time/Contractor

About the Role

Join the nation’s leading maritime training institution! Located in Piney Point, Maryland, the Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship is seeking an instructor to join our team. Instructors teach classes with provided curriculum in both the classroom, in our machine shop, and onboard our training vessel. This role may also include monthly 4-day training voyages onboard our school vessel, Freedom Star, where you'll work with our unlicensed apprentice crew. You’ll be part of a dynamic educational environment with students from diverse backgrounds, varying in experience, age, and education level.

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in public speaking
• Military time can be evaluated; Engineman, Boiler Mate, Machinery Tech, Machinist Mate, Electrician Mate
• Operational or Officer level experience on one or more propulsion modes (motor/steam/gas turbine)
• Sea Service on vessels of at least 4,000 HP
