Summary
The Supply Chain Manager owns the end-to-end, multi-site supply chain for Amphenol DC Electronics, a high-end cable harness manufacturing business. From a San Jose, CA home base, lead S&OP/MPS, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and supplier performance for three facilities (U.S., Mexico, Malaysia). Deliver cost, quality, delivery, and compliance (RBA, trade, customer) while building a resilient network.
Scope & Reporting - Primary location: San Jose, CA
- Reports to: General Manager (dotted line to Corporate Operations/Supply Chain).
- Team model: Direct HQ team (e.g., buyers/planners/analyst) plus dotted-line leadership of site materials/logistics leads in San Jose, Nogales, and Penang.
- Travel: ~25–35% (monthly Nogales visits, periodic Penang trips; occasional vendor/customer travel).
- Time zones: Flexible hours to support Mexico and Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & S&OP
- Run monthly S&OP; communicate demand to site MPS; align capacity, labor, and materials across all three plants.
- Own forecast accuracy, build plans, and recovery scenarios for upside/downside.
- Procurement & Supplier Performance
- Source globally; negotiate price/terms; implement dual sourcing and VA/VE with Engineering.
- Drive supplier QBRs, scorecards, and corrective actions (PPM, NCR closure time).
- Ensure RBA/ESG and conflict minerals compliance in the supply base.
Inventory, Planning & Fulfillment
- Set planning parameters (LT/SS/MOQ); manage E&O and slow-moving risk; improve turns/DOS.
- Oversee cycle counts/annual counts; ensure ERP/MRP health and BOM/item master integrity.
- Hit OTD/OTIF and shortage/expedite SLAs across sites.
Logistics & Trade Compliance
- Optimize domestic/international freight, routing guides, consolidation, and claims; manage carrier/broker performance.
- Ensure correct HTS/ECCN, Incoterms 2020, and documentation.
- U.S.–Mexico (Nogales): IMMEX compliance, USMCA rules of origin, C-TPAT/OEA practices.
- Malaysia/Penang: AEO/FTZ processes as applicable; ocean/air consolidation to U.S./MX/EMEA.
- Coordinate ITAR/EAR awareness where applicable; maintain clean customs/audit records.
Risk & Continuity
- Build and execute continuity plans (alt sites/suppliers, buffers, postponement); lead cross-site crisis response.
- Own component allocation strategies and NPI/ramp readiness (PPAP/FAI/tooling lead times).
Leadership & Systems
- Hire, coach, and develop the central team; upskill site materials/logistics leads.
- Drive digital visibility (ERP/Cetec Dashboards)
- Review and update as needed standard work and SOPs across all three facilities.
Success Metrics (KPIs)
- OTD/OTIF ≥ 95% by site and customer.
- Inventory turns/DOS improvement, E&O reduction vs. plan.
- PPV/TCO savings and freight cost % revenue.
- Forecast accuracy & S&OP adherence.
- Supplier PPM/NCR closure and QBR outcomes.
- Customs/trade audit results (IMMEX/USMCA/AEO/C-TPAT).
- NPI ramp readiness on time (materials/TOC met).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations/Industrial Engineering (MBA or APICS CPIM/CSCP/CIPS preferred).
- 5-10+ years in manufacturing supply chain with global sourcing; 3+ years leading people and multi-site networks.
- Deep ERP/MRP expertise; advanced analytics in Excel/BI; proven supplier negotiation and contract skills.
- Eligible for international travel; valid passport/visas.
