Position Overview
Seeking an experienced AI Governance & Security Architect to establish and lead the governance, security, and responsible AI framework for the enterprise AI platform. This is a newly created, high-impact role that will define how artificial intelligence is deployed safely, securely, and responsibly across the organization.
This is a strategic architecture position, not an operational engineering or security operations role. The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership, cloud engineering, AI development teams, Information Security, Risk, Compliance, and Enterprise Architecture to build the policies, guardrails, and governance structures that enable secure AI adoption across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate has already designed and implemented AI governance and security programs within production enterprise environments and understands the unique challenges associated with deploying generative AI and AI agents in regulated industries.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of progressive experience in Information Security, Cloud Security, Security Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or related disciplines.
· Demonstrated experience designing and implementing AI security and governance frameworks within enterprise environments.
· Experience developing enterprise AI policies, governance standards, and responsible AI practices.
· Hands-on experience securing AI implementations deployed in production environments.
· Strong understanding of AI security risks, including data protection, model security, prompt injection, data leakage, and AI misuse prevention.
· Experience developing governance models for AI agents and enterprise AI platforms.
· Strong cloud security experience, within AWS.
· Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
· Strong understanding of enterprise security frameworks such as NIST and modern risk management practices
Preferred Qualifications
· AWS security architecture experience
· Multi-cloud experience including Azure, Oracle Cloud, or Google Cloud Platform
· Experience implementing governance for Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
· Experience building AI guardrails and enterprise AI control frameworks
· Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience
· Familiarity with emerging AI governance standards and regulatory requirements
· Experience establishing AI governance programs from the ground up
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement enterprise AI governance strategies, policies, and standards.
· Design and establish AI security guardrails that protect sensitive customer and financial information.
· Create responsible AI policies governing enterprise AI usage, including acceptable use, risk management, and compliance requirements.
· Design governance frameworks for AI agents and autonomous AI capabilities.
· Partner with executive leadership to ensure AI initiatives align with business objectives, security requirements, and regulatory expectations.
· Collaborate with Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, and Enterprise Architecture teams to define governance processes for AI adoption.
· Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend governance controls to mitigate organizational risk.
· Define security standards for enterprise AI platforms operating within cloud environments.
· Develop documentation, governance artifacts, reference architectures, and implementation guidance for enterprise AI initiatives.
· Help establish enterprise approval processes for AI solutions and emerging AI use cases.
· Continuously refine governance policies based on production experience, evolving regulations, and industry best practices.
· Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on AI governance, security, and responsible AI strategy.
