A small but growing Montessori-style private school (less than 90 students) seeks a warm, organized, and highly capable Assistant Educational Director to support the Educational Director in advancing academic excellence, student success, faculty collaboration, and school communications. This position reports directly to the Educational Director and plays an important role in helping foster a thoughtful, student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the Educational Director in curriculum coordination, instructional planning, and academic operations
• Collaborate with teachers, students, parents, and school leadership to support students academic and social emotional success and provide a positive school culture
• Assist with student progress monitoring, classroom support, and instructional improvement
• Help implement standards-aligned curriculum, benchmarks, and assessments
• Assist with student meetings, action plans, and family communication
• Draft, proofread, and edit school communications
• Support the thoughtful integration of AI in the classroom and for educational use, ensuring technology is used effectively, responsibly, and in alignment with instructional goals
• Provide 1 hour, daily small group instruction for students in upper elementary and middle school
• Develop and implement engaging, well-planned lessons aligned with curriculum goals
• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive school and classroom environment
• Use creative, hands-on, and student-centered teaching methods to make learning meaningful and engaging
• Substitute in classrooms as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education required
• Candidates pursuing a master’s degree or with graduate coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree are encouraged to apply
• Prior K–8 teaching experience required
• Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, and student assessment
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities professionally
• Experience with educational technology; Microsoft Workspace and Google Suites preferred
• Familiarity with Montessori, project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and AI in education preferred
• Experience with special education a plus
