The Assistant Plant Manager function is a hands-on managerial role, meeting USDA, HACCP, GMP, and Company standards under the supervision of the Plant Manager.
The Assistant Plant Manager is primarily responsible to direct all production related activities emphasizing associate safety and welfare, process controls and finished product standards, cost of production and order attainment, plant sanitation and safe food practices. The Plant Manager will oversee the execution of appropriate workplace communications, policies and related management practices that result in a disciplined yet positive work environment that supports a union free philosophy. This function will directly supervise the Assistant Plant Managers to achieve all established goals.

Pursue cost saving opportunities.

Root cause analysis/establish corrective actions to prevent recurrence of deficiencies within departments.

Responsible for training and retention of workforce.

Responsible to ensure all employees are job and machine specific trained.

The assistant plant manager will have responsibility and oversight of all aspects of the following areas.

2nd shift value add south
-
2nd shift value add north
-
2nd shift pump and tumble
-
2nd and 3rd shift Sanitation.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Agri-business, Meat or Food Science, or any related field a plus

Minimum 5 years related experience

Proven ability to think strategically and apply creativity to achieve practical solutions

Thorough understanding of HACCP, GMP and food safety practices and processes

Proficient communicator both written and orally. Bi-lingual a definite plus.

Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft programs including Excel.

Must be able to lead and work in a team environment.

Must be a proficient communicator and maintain a good working relationship with all associates, USDA, and Management members throughout the organization.

Ability to multitask.
