Technical Applications Assistant Manager
Location: Midtown Manhattan, New York City (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Compensation: $95,000–$110,000 base salary + target annual bonus (22%)
Office hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 35h/week
About the Opportunity
A global organization is building an enterprise-wide Automation Center of Excellence (CoE) to drive innovation and scale automation initiatives across North America. This newly established team is seeking a Technical Applications Assistant Manager to serve as a key technical leader responsible for designing and supporting next-generation automation platforms that integrate AI agents, RPA technologies, and enterprise systems.
This role offers significant visibility, hands-on technical ownership, and a clear path toward broader leadership responsibilities within the Automation CoE.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture and implementation of AI-driven automation solutions using RPA and enterprise platforms
- Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for automation development
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, troubleshooting, and solution optimization
- Support platform operations, release management, and environment strategy
- Define automation governance, including escalation procedures, decision boundaries, and human oversight requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, ERP teams, and security teams to ensure compliance and scalability
- Drive standardization and reusable automation solutions across multiple business units
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field preferred
- 6+ years of experience in automation, software engineering, solution architecture, or related disciplines
- Experience with UiPath, RPA platforms, AI-enabled automation, or similar technologies
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including Stored Procedures, SSIS, and SSRS
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP or comparable enterprise platforms
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
- Experience designing governance frameworks for automation or AI platforms is highly preferred
- Japanese language skills are a plus, but not required
- Ability to travel occasionally for business needs
