Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Tax Expert, CPA to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive tax knowledge and accounting expertise to provide exceptional tax consulting, compliance, and planning services to a diverse client base. Your proactive approach and technical proficiency will ensure accurate tax filings, strategic financial advice, and adherence to regulatory standards.

We are also offering CFO/accountancy work in this position which offers the opportunity to work remotely while making a meaningful impact on clients’ financial success through expert guidance and innovative solutions.

Duties

• Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, estate, and trust tax returns with precision and attention to detail
• Conduct thorough tax research using current laws including securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards
• Assist clients with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and analysis of financial concepts for strategic decision-making
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to maintain accurate financial records
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools for bookkeeping, asset management, payroll processing, and account reconciliation
• Support mergers & acquisitions activities by providing technical accounting insights and financial due diligence
• Develop detailed financial reports that interpret complex data for clients’ understanding and decision-making purposes
• Collaborate with clients on budgeting, financial planning, investment strategies, and non-profit accounting needs

Experience

• Proven experience in public accounting or private sector tax roles with a focus on tax experience across various industries
• Strong background in corporate accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial statement preparation
• Demonstrated expertise in estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, and regulatory compliance
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or similar platforms for bookkeeping and financial analysis
• Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in auditing procedures and SOX compliance processes
• Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and prepare comprehensive reports
• Experience working remotely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high accuracy standards
• Strong understanding of financial concepts related to asset management, private equity investments, mergers & acquisitions, and non-profit accounting
