Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Family Law Associate Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has at least five years of family law experience, thrives with autonomy, and can confidently manage a full caseload from intake through resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, custody, parent-time, paternity, modifications, and enforcement actions from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and final orders with precision and clarity
- Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and trials
- Negotiate settlements while advocating for clients' best interests
- Maintain proactive and responsive communication with clients throughout the life of each matter
- Prepare clients for mediation, hearings, and litigation by providing clear legal guidance and expectations
- Track all billable time daily in Clio with complete and accurate descriptions
- Collaborate with operations, intake, and support staff to move matters efficiently
- Maintain strong file organization and proactively advance cases without constant oversight
- Mentor junior associates and contribute to a positive, solution-oriented culture
Performance Expectations / KPIs
Success in this role includes:
- Minimum annual billable hours of 1,300
- Daily time entry in Clio with high-quality descriptions
- Proactive movement of assigned matters with minimal stagnation
- Responsive communication and a consistently excellent client experience
- Zero missed deadlines and thorough preparation for hearings, mediations, and trials
- Positive collaboration with attorneys, staff, and leadership
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and active Utah bar license
- Minimum five years of family law experience
- Strong litigation experience, including motion practice, hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution
- Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, and follow-through
- Experience with Clio or the ability to quickly learn practice management software
- Team-oriented mindset and willingness to mentor junior attorneys

Compensation and Benefits
We offer competitive compensation based on experience, a performance-based bonus program tied to billable hours and collected fees, comprehensive benefits, and meaningful opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
Pay: $120,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
