Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Building Materials Sales Associate to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while assisting clients with their building material needs. Your expertise will help guide customers through product selections, design layouts, and renovation projects, ensuring a seamless shopping experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, technical proficiency, and a comprehensive understanding of construction and remodeling processes.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to identify their building material needs and provide expert guidance on products such as lighting, cabinetry, and hardware.
• Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to facilitate informed purchasing decisions.
• Assist customers with layout design using tools like SketchUp or CAD software to visualize renovation projects.
• Upsell additional products and services to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Manage inside sales activities, including order processing, POS transactions, and cash handling with accuracy and professionalism.
• Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability.
• Collaborate with team members to manage customer accounts, process returns or exchanges, and resolve any issues efficiently.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales within the building materials or construction industry.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, CAD software, lighting design, and layout planning tools.
• Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent communication abilities in English; multilingual skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of renovation processes, remodeling projects, and construction materials.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for retail math and pricing purposes.
• Technical proficiency in POS systems, merchandising software, and customer service platforms.
• Demonstrated organizational skills for managing stock levels and maintaining an orderly sales environment.
