Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5 pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

• Support the EHSS department to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations through proper documentation and recordkeeping.
• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
• Assist in preparing inspection reports and tracking corrective actions to closure.
• Support the development and maintenance of inspection checklists and audit tools.
• Coordinate logistics for safety training sessions, including scheduling, materials preparation, and attendance tracking.
• Assist in the development and distribution of safety bulletins, posters, and other awareness materials.
• Support onboarding safety orientation for new employees and contractors.
• Serve as the first point of contact for reporting safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Assist in gathering initial incident data, witness statements, and photographic evidence.
• Support the EHSS team in conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor inventory levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety supplies.
• Support the distribution and proper use of PPE across departments.
• Assist in evaluating and recommending appropriate PPE for specific tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and corrective actions in EHSS databases or software systems.
• Help compile data for monthly safety metrics, dashboards, and regulatory reporting.
• Uphold all MLI policies and the “MLI Code of Conduct.”
• Adhere to Environmental and Safety compliance regulations.
• Follow Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration.
• It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support EHSS and MLI as a whole.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's Arts degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• An EHSS certificate(s) with relevant experience may be considered.
• 0–1 years of experience in EHSS or a related safety/environmental role.
• Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
• Proficient in arithmetic and grammar.
• Demonstrated ability to:
• Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
• Work as a team and/or independently.
• Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

SALARY & BENEFITS

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $60K-$80K ($28.85/hour- $38.46/hour)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in an office and high-purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as hardhat, safety glasses, and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc.
