Mission

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10-20 years of professional experience in HVAC, plumbing, and construction, with a strong background in commercial facilities. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical system design and execution while working closely with executive leadership, owners, and senior stakeholders to deliver dependable, efficient, and cost-effective building systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, leadership, and real-world construction experience.

Outcomes and Work Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial projects, including offices, mixed-use developments, retail, hospitality, mission critical healthcare & data centers, manufacturing, food processing, petrochemical, large commercial and other large-scale facilities
• Perform and oversee load calculations, equipment selection, system layouts, and technical specifications. Provide recommendations on best practices regarding design, install, and service.
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, local and state codes).
• Review , approve, and and work with third parties to seal (if unlicensed) engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, estimation, project management, VDC, fabrication, and various departments as needed.
• Serve as the mechanical engineering lead from concept design through construction and project closeout.
• Coordinate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams
• Work directly with executives, owners, and senior decision-makers to align engineering solutions with business objectives, budgets, and schedules.
• Present technical concepts, options, and recommendations in a clear, executive-level format
• Support budgeting, scheduling, value engineering, and risk mitigation efforts.
• Provide construction administration support including site visits, inspections, and system commissioning.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders, and resolve field issues efficiently.
• Ensure systems are installed in accordance with design intent, performance criteria, and quality standards.
• Leverage construction experience to improve constructability and reduce project risk.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, and executive stakeholders, building owners and managers (internal and external).
• Support proposal development, scopes of work, and project planning efforts.
• Identify opportunities to optimize system performance, energy efficiency, and lifecycle cost.

Core Competencies

• Technical expertise: Deep knowledge of commercial HVAC systems (air handling units, chillers, boilers, VRF, controls) and plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty, and process piping systems).
• Executive communication: Proven ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical and executive audiences in a clear, concise manner.
• Leadership and mentorship: Strong capability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers and designers, and make sound engineering decisions.
• Construction acumen: Demonstrated experience coordinating with contractors and construction teams, with practical understanding of field conditions and constructability.
• Design software proficiency: Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC/plumbing design and analysis software for efficient system design and documentation.
• Project management: Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
• Code compliance: Extensive knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, and local/state building codes to ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements.
• Professional credentials: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
