North County Student Transportation (NCST) is hiring professional full and part-time field trip bus drivers to join our dedicated team. This is a unique opportunity to put your school bus driving skills to work in a role that’s rewarding, engaging, and never routine.
As an NCST bus driver, you’ll transport passengers K-12 and beyond to some of the most popular field trip and recreational destinations across San Diego County, in support of various activities including school field trips, after-school sports, event shuttles, private charters, and more!

BASE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold a currently valid California School Bus Certificate and/or Special Pupil Activity Bus (SPAB) Certificate
- Available 2-4+ weekdays per week
- At least three (3) years of professional experience driving a school bus with passengers, including regular operation on public streets and highways
- Friendly, punctual, and professional with a service-first attitude and the ability to supervise and interact positively passengers of all ages
- Must successfully pass a full criminal and driving record background check
- Proficient in English reading and writing
- Able to lift 20+ lbs. unassisted
- 21+ years of age

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow your assigned driving schedule to help ensure students arrive on time and safely
- Accurately complete trip information slips as required by the California Highway Patrol
- Communicate with dispatch as needed during trips to provide updates or receive instructions
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and promptly report any mechanical concerns
- Keep your bus clean and tidy, including sweeping at the end of the day and making sure it’s fueled and ready for each route
- Interact positively and professionally with students and staff
- Consistently enforce safety and conduct rules on the bus at all times
- Promptly report any delays, accidents, or emergencies
- Respond professionally and effectively in both emergency and routine situations
- Assist with loading/unloading cargo when necessary

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 35.0 per week
