Position Summary

The Plumbing & HVAC Estimator is an in-office position responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for large multi-residential and commercial construction projects. This role requires knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs related to Plumbing & HVAC, as well as the ability to read drawings to analyze projects in collaboration with general contractors and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare project estimates based on material and labor.
• Prepare detailed take-offs and cost estimates for Plumbing & HVAC scopes.
• Review/Solicit supplier quotes; evaluate and compare pricing.
• Occasionally attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to better understand project scope and conditions.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and unit prices.
• Track and review addenda & revisions to ensure estimates are up to date.
• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractor estimating teams.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering knowledge/coursework is preferred but not required
• 1-3 years of construction estimating experience (or relevant coursework) is preferred but not required (willing to train the right candidate)
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes relevant to plumbing & HVAC.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel & Outlook.
• Experience using estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam or similar).
• Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
