Position: UMI Coatings National Business Development Manager; Strategic Partnerships
Reports to: Director, UMI Coatings
Job Summary:
The National Business Development Manager of Strategic Partnerships will play a key role in identifying, developing, and managing high-impact partnerships that align with the company’s long-term vision and growth objectives. This position requires an analytical thinker, relationship builder, and purposeful professional who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of business development, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills to forge and maintain strategic alliances. The primary goal of this position is to expand the use of UMI Coatings (entity of Sprayroq, Inc.), by prospecting, qualifying, and closing on new accounts, enhancing revenues, profits, and overall customer satisfaction. This position allows the freedom to develop strategies to grow, innovate, and identify new application channels to improve chemical offerings while also providing enrichment opportunities in the polymeric industry, specifically within spray-applied lining systems (polyurea, polyurethanes, and epoxies).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Focused efforts on revenue growth, market expansion, and brand alignment through closure of new accounts quarterly.
- Identify and evaluate potential partners, alliances, and joint ventures aligned with business priorities.
- Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry leaders, vendors, and strategic collaborators.
- Negotiate partnership agreements, contracts, and terms with a focus on long-term value and sustainability.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development, operations) to execute partnership strategies and ensure alignment across the organization.
- Track and measure partnership performance, ensuring KPIs and ROI targets are met or exceeded.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to enhance visibility and generate new opportunities.
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide support to the clients with education and understanding of chemical-physical properties, value proposition of products and services other needs throughout the implementation, support and life cycle of customer experience and ownership.
- Work with Operations to provide guidance regarding polymeric spray equipment for open-market customers.
- Assist in training courses for our UMI Coatings customers including the proper application of materials and defining value proposition within the industries served.
- Help organize product demonstration events both locally and nationally.
- Travel is needed to assist with demonstrations, presentations or other UMI Coatings support as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- +5 years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or corporate strategy.
- Proven record of identifying, building, closing, and scaling successful strategic partnerships.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and executive-level relationships.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess opportunities and risks.
- Enterprising spirit with a drive to innovate and grow.
- Experience with coatings systems or aligned experiences with industry-specific knowledge of manufacturing, industrial, or automotive aftermarket, etc. is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
- CRM and partnership management software proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Monday).
- Familiarity with contracts and tiered pricing models.
- Ability to collaborate with executive leadership.
- Experience in negotiating and international partnerships

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
