Duties

• Greet guests warmly and present menus confidently, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and beverages to enhance their dining experience.
• Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted and communicated clearly to the kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety protocols.
• Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling and credit card processing, while maintaining accountability for cash register operations.
• Upsell menu items including cocktails, wines, spirits, and desserts to maximize sales opportunities.
• Assist with food preparation tasks when needed and support kitchen staff to ensure timely service delivery.
• Maintain guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly, ensuring a positive dining atmosphere from arrival to departure.

Skills

• Proven experience in a restaurant, specifically a brunch restaurant; fine dining experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for efficient order processing.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
• Knowledge of beverage service, including cocktails, spirits, wine knowledge, and drink presentation techniques.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking seamlessly across multiple tables.
• Basic math skills for handling bills, processing payments accurately, and managing sales transactions.
• Familiarity with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
• Experience with upselling techniques to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue.
• Hospitality background with strong guest relations skills; previous host/hostess or bussing experience is a plus.
