The Factory Information System is a critical plant-floor data and reporting software used in manufacturing facilities to monitor the real-time performance of assembly lines, track production flow, analyze downtime, and identify mechanical bottlenecks that impact throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen-Bradley PLCs used in manufacturing and assembly operations.
- Support plant-floor automation systems, including PLC controls, HMI interfaces, industrial networks, and data collection systems.
- Work with Factory Information System software to monitor real-time production data, assembly line performance, downtime, and production flow.
- Analyze system data to identify mechanical bottlenecks, equipment issues, cycle time concerns, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, controls systems, and production reporting tools.
- Assist with integration between PLC systems, plant-floor equipment, and manufacturing information systems.
- Troubleshoot automation-related issues to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, operations, and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review and modify existing PLC logic, control programs, and system documentation as needed.
- Support commissioning, testing, upgrades, and validation of automation and reporting systems.
- Maintain accurate records of PLC changes, system updates, troubleshooting activity, and production system improvements.
- Ensure automation work is completed in alignment with plant safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Qualifications
- Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls support in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related automation platforms.
- Exposure to GVOSS or similar plant-floor manufacturing systems preferred.
- Experience supporting a Factory Information System, manufacturing execution system, or production reporting platform is preferred.
- Understanding of assembly line operations, production flow, equipment uptime, downtime tracking, and bottleneck analysis.
- Ability to diagnose issues involving PLC logic, sensors, actuators, control panels, HMIs, and production equipment.
- Familiarity with plant-floor data collection, real-time reporting, and performance monitoring tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with maintenance technicians, manufacturing engineers, production supervisors, and operations teams.
