We're looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial civil, concrete, excavation, and stormwater management projects while serving as the direct operational partner to the business owner. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how commercial construction projects come together from estimating and scheduling through final completion.

You'll work closely with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and clients to keep projects moving safely, efficiently and on schedule. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems, making decisions, and leading teams, we'd like to talk with you.

What You'll Do

• Lead multiple commercial construction projects from planning through closeout.
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment across active job sites.
• Build and maintain project schedules while managing timelines and project milestones.
• Oversee commercial concrete, excavation, grading, and stormwater management projects.
• Review construction plans, specifications, contracts, permits, and project documentation.
• Manage vendor relationships, subcontractor performance, and procurement.
• Monitor budgets, change orders, and project costs.
• Ensure projects meet quality standards while maintaining compliance with applicable building codes, licensing requirements, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular job site visits and communicate project status with ownership and clients.
• Identify issues before they become problems and develop practical solutions that keep projects on track.
• Serve as the primary point of coordination between the field team and company leadership.

What We're Looking For

You understand commercial construction because you've lived it, not just managed paperwork.

We're looking for someone who has:

• 3+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
• Proven experience managing commercial civil, concrete, excavation, and/or stormwater management projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction operations and project execution.
• Experience with:
• Project scheduling
• Vendor and subcontractor management
• Contract administration
• Budget tracking
• Building codes and regulatory compliance
• Permitting and licensing requirements
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Confidence making decisions independently while keeping ownership informed.

Preferred Qualifications

These aren't required but will set you apart:

• Heavy equipment operating experience.
• OSHA certification or other construction safety training.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position designed for someone who enjoys variety.

Your time will be split between:

• Active commercial job sites.
• Meeting with crews, vendors, and clients.
• Working remotely from home for administrative tasks, scheduling, reporting, and coordination as appropriate.

While remote flexibility is available, successful candidates should expect to spend significant time in the field supporting active projects and company operations.

Employment Details

This position will begin as a 1099 independent contractor through December, allowing both parties the opportunity to ensure it's the right long-term fit.
