Job Summary
Architectural Senior Job Captain

JAG Architecture is seeking an experienced Senior Job Captain to coordinate and produce retail, hospitality, grocery, and restaurant projects from schematic design through permitting and construction administration. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects while coordinating with Project Managers, consultants, clients, landlords, and public agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate project development from design through permit approval and construction.
• Production of construction documents.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, clients, landlords, and public agencies.
• Lead project coordination with internal staff and consultants.
• Prepare permit submittals and respond to plan check comments.
• Coordinate consultant drawings and integrate disciplines into the architectural set.
• Review construction documents for accuracy, coordination, and completeness.
• Assist with project schedules and coordinate project milestones.
• Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, ASIs, and field coordination.
• Prepare meeting notes and project status updates.
• Identify design and coordination issues and proactively recommend solutions.
• Maintain a high level of organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
• Mentor and assist junior staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 8 years of architectural experience.
• Experience with retail, restaurant, grocery, hospitality, and tenant improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction documents, detailing, permitting, and consultant coordination.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with Project Managers and Principals.
• Knowledge of California building codes.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
