Job Summary

micro1 is engaging experienced General Counsels to contribute to a high-impact AI training project for a customer. In this role, you'll apply your legal expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by providing high-quality contract negotiation playbooks, commercial agreements, and contract management guidance.

This is an hourly-paid contract opportunity for senior legal professionals with deep experience in commercial contracting, negotiation strategy, and legal operations. Your work will directly improve AI systems by contributing practical, real-world legal expertise and documentation.

No prior AI experience is required. Your legal expertise is what matters most.

Scope of Work

• Create, review, and refine contract negotiation playbooks based on real-world commercial scenarios and organizational requirements.
• Draft, analyze, annotate, and improve a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring legal accuracy, clarity, and practical applicability.
• Provide expert guidance on contract negotiation strategies, contract lifecycle management, and commercial best practices.
• Curate and review eligible, non-confidential transaction materials that support the project's AI training objectives.
• Evaluate and optimize existing contract templates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure all deliverables meet project requirements and AI training standards.
• Deliver clear, actionable written and verbal feedback that improves AI understanding of commercial contracting and legal reasoning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or former General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, or Assistant General Counsel with significant experience in commercial contracting.
• Extensive expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex commercial agreements.
• Proven experience developing and implementing corporate contract negotiation playbooks.
• Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, legal risk assessment, and commercial best practices.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience participating in document-driven legal projects and working with commercial legal documentation.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality legal contributions within a remote project environment.
