Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Sales & Marketing Representative to help grow our decorated apparel and promotional products business. This role combines outside sales, customer relationship management, project coordination, and creative marketing support to generate new business, strengthen existing client partnerships, and provide dependable ownership of customer requests from start to finish.
The ideal candidate is personable, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced small business environment where each day may look a little different. This person should be relationally driven, detail-oriented, and able to balance customer connection with accurate execution. They should enjoy building relationships, learning the business, solving problems, and helping turn customer ideas into finished products that represent their brand well.
Key Responsibilities
Small Business Support & Team Collaboration
- Step in where needed to support the team, customers, and day-to-day business operations
- Adapt when priorities shift or unexpected needs arise
- Work independently while staying aligned with company goals and customer expectations
- Take ownership of assigned customer projects, online stores, quotes, project follow-up, and day-to-day details to help reduce work from the owners’ plates
- Use good judgment and initiative to help move work forward
- Take interest in understanding the business, the customer experience, and the “why” behind decisions
Customer Service & Project Coordination
- Communicate clearly with staff and vendors regarding deadlines, artwork, order details, and customer expectations
- Proactively communicate with customers and vendors to gather information, confirm details, request updates, and keep projects moving forward
- Help ensure projects are completed accurately and on time
- Track open orders, quotes, customer requests, and vendor communications through completion, ensuring timely follow-up and clear next steps
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the order process
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Ask thoughtful questions to clarify needs and keep projects moving
Sales & Business Development
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through consistent follow-up and relationship-building
- Proactively reach out to existing customers to identify needs, offer ideas, and support repeat business
- Build and manage online client stores
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and follow-up communications
- Represent the company at local events, trade shows, and community functions
- Prospect and develop new customer relationships through networking, referrals, outreach, and in-person meetings
- Identify customer needs and recommend apparel, promotional products, or branded merchandise solutions
Success Benchmarks
First 30 days: Learn the products, systems, order flow, customer expectations, and current processes
First 6 months: Independently manage assigned customer requests, online stores, quotes, and follow-up with accuracy and dependability
First year: Own key customer relationships, contribute to sales growth, improve internal processes, and meaningfully reduce day-to-day workload from ownership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred
- Prior business development, sales, marketing, graphic design, or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to identify opportunities, generate leads, and build long-term customer relationships
- Professional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with customers, vendors, and internal team members
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable with strong follow-through
- Comfortable using email, CRM systems, Microsoft Office (especially excel), Google Workspace, QuickBooks, and other business technology
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and customer needs
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to take ownership
- Comfortable learning quickly, solving problems, and working in a changing environment
- Knowledge of decorated apparel, screen printing, embroidery, signage, or promotional products is a plus
