THE POSITION: LaFontaine Automotive Group is seeking a highly creative, strategic, and relationship-driven Social Media Manager to lead and oversee all social media efforts across our dealership locations throughout Michigan.
This individual will own the social media strategy, content planning, platform growth, engagement, and performance reporting for all LaFontaine locations and brands. The ideal candidate is passionate about social media trends, understands the automotive industry and consumer behavior, and can build strong relationships with dealership leadership and internal teams.
This role will oversee all organic social media activity across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging social platforms, while helping create scalable systems and best practices that strengthen the LaFontaine brand and drive customer engagement at both the corporate and store level.

Experience and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of professional social media management experience
- Experience managing multiple brands, locations, or business accounts preferred
- Strong understanding of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Knowledge of content creation, short-form video trends, and platform algorithms
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Automotive industry experience is a plus, but not required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Social Media Ownership
- Own and manage all social media channels for LaFontaine Automotive Group and individual dealership locations
- Develop and execute social media strategies that align with brand, sales, service, recruiting, and community objectives
- Build scalable social media systems and best practices across 45+ dealership locations
- Ensure brand consistency while allowing for store-level personality and localized content
Content Strategy & Planning
Develop monthly content calendars for corporate and store-level social media channels
Create and coordinate engaging content ideas including:
- Vehicle spotlights
- Delivery celebrations
- Employee features
- Service promotions
- Community involvement
- Event coverage
- Recruiting initiatives
- Short-form video and trending content
- Identify and capitalize on social media trends, viral formats, and platform opportunities
Store Relationships & Social Champions
- Build strong working relationships with dealership General Managers, sales managers, and store teams
- Establish and manage “social media champions” within each store to help gather content and increase participation
- Train store personnel on social media best practices, content capture techniques, platform trends, and brand standards
- Provide stores with content ideas, guidance, and coaching to improve engagement and consistency
Community Management & Engagement
- Monitor comments, messages, reviews, tags, and engagement across all platforms
- Respond to or escalate customer concerns appropriately and professionally
- Help strengthen customer relationships through active online community engagement
- Monitor brand reputation and identify opportunities for proactive engagement
Influencer & Partnership Management
- Identify, evaluate, and manage local influencers, creators, ambassadors, and outside social media partners
- Build strategic influencer partnerships that align with dealership brands and target audiences
- Coordinate influencer campaigns, collaborations, appearances, and content creation
- Evaluate partnership effectiveness and ROI
Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics across all stores and platforms
- Prepare monthly reporting dashboards highlighting:
- Growth by store
- Engagement trends
- Top-performing content
- Audience insights
- Platform growth
- Campaign performance
- Use insights and analytics to continuously improve strategy and performance
Platform & Trend Leadership
- Stay current on evolving social media trends, platform updates, algorithm changes, and best practices
- Evaluate emerging platforms and recommend opportunities for expansion
- Continuously identify innovative ways to increase reach, engagement, and brand awareness

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
