Senior Electrical Engineer - Power

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 (Commensurate with experience)
Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, collaborative Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary product development team. In this role, you will design and develop innovative power conversion, power control, and system communication products deployed in demanding environments, ranging from industrial to military and aerospace applications.
As a senior member of the team, you will become an expert in our customers' applications, partnering with them to deliver high-performance, cost-effective, and timely power solutions. You will be responsible for taking customized end products from initial concept through successful deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead electrical engineering projects, including the design, development, testing, and debugging of switch-mode power supplies (SMPS).
- Specification & Conceptualization: Generate technical specifications for new R&D products and utilize analytical tools to conceptualize designs.
- Schematics & Documentation: Prepare detailed schematic diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM) part lists, component stress documentation charts, MTBF analyses, and DFMEAs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Participate actively in project teams alongside Mechanical, Process, and Manufacturing Engineers.
- Prototyping & Testing: Work independently or with lab technicians to build, debug, and test prototypes. Develop Design Verification Test (DVT) procedures and lead troubleshooting efforts.
- Client Communication: Communicate directly with customers to ensure design alignment with intended application requirements and project goals.
- Mentorship: Support the growth of junior team members by mentoring them on technical skills, work ethics, and best practices for Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development of electronic power conversion products, with a proven track record in switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency with electrical design and simulation tools such as PSpice and Mathcad.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience resolving Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) issues. Familiarity with high-frequency magnetic component design and microcontroller circuits for power electronics is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with agency compliance and certification standards (e.g., UL, CSA, VDE, CE).
- Experience designing battery management and charging systems.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of driving project tasks to timely execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
