Here's a summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Board Relations & Donor Engagement, the Director of USOPF Events is a dynamic leader responsible for the end-to-end strategy, design, and execution of USOPF's donor-hosted and donor-attended events. This role sits at the heart of how the Foundation brings its community to life — creating experiences that build belonging, deepen philanthropic commitment, and move donors and prospects along the continuum of engagement.
This position leads the USOPF Events team, with the opportunity to scale the events function as USOPF accelerates toward LA28. Blending deep donor engagement expertise with strong operational and event planning acumen, this leader is equally comfortable behind the scenes planning logistics and forward-facing in the room with donors — with the understanding that every touchpoint is an opportunity to strengthen a relationship.
The ideal candidate for this creative, high-expectation role thrives in a fast-paced environment, continually seeks to elevate and innovate, and uses data to make thoughtful decisions.
Here’s how you’ll have an impact:

Serve as the strategic lead for USOPF's portfolio of donor-facing events, including the Annual Meeting, Board Receptions, Chairs' Council gatherings, NextGen programming, and cultivation and stewardship events throughout the year. Driving and solidifying the roadmap of events in partnership with fundraising leadership and key collaborators.
-
Lead the design of donor events that are both logistically excellent and emotionally resonant, grounded in a deep understanding of what motivates, inspires, and retains major gift donors.
-
Develop and maintain a multi-year events calendar aligned to the Foundation's fundraising goals, board governance cadence, and regional donor and prospect engagement, incorporating information from the fundraising and stewardship teams.
-
Drive innovation in event strategy, introducing differentiated concepts, formats, and mission-connected experiences that elevate USOPF events beyond traditional non-profit gatherings.
-
Set and enforce enterprise-wide quality standards that reflect USOPF's position as a best-in-class philanthropic organization.

-
Lead the strategic planning and execution of the USOPF Annual Meeting, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, an exceptional donor experience, and flawless delivery of the Foundation's signature donor convening.
-
Lead logistics and programming for Board Meetings in close coordination with the Board Relations team and executive leadership, ensuring alignment with governance priorities and donor engagement strategy.
-

-
Partner with Development Officers and Director Trustee Relations & Donor Engagement to identify the right moment, format, and audience for event activations that meaningfully advance relationships.
-
Execute on a regional event calendar that complements flagship events and addresses engagement gaps between major convenings.
-
Bring a creative, elevated, and community building-focused lens to all USOPF events and experiences, including decisions about format, venue, and experience design, ensuring consistency in quality and intentionality in all gatherings regardless of size or scale.
