Job Description:
The director is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the center.
Qualifications:
· Must be 21 years of age
· Has a current bronze or higher-level Oklahoma Directors Credential
· Is not a master teacher or director at another program that operates concurrently
· Has a good understanding of DHS licensing and QRIS requirements, as well as program policies.
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma
1. Current CDA credential or acceptable equivalent
2. Associate’s degree in early childhood education or a similar field
3. Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a similar field
Directors must obtain a minimum of 30 credit hours of training each year to maintain Oklahoma Directors Credential
1. ELCCT training within 90 days of first employment in a childcare center
2. CPR/First Aid, prior to or within 90 days of employment; renewed every 2 years
3. DHS requirements compliance Review within 1 month of employment
1. Safe Sleep training
2. Early Learning Guidelines (ELG) training
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
· Be present at the facility during hours of operation at least 30 hours during the week
· Maintaining a program that meets or exceeds licensing and QRIS requirements
· Regularly evaluate and work to continuously improve the quality of care
· Implement continuous program evaluation and development
· Ensure personnel and volunteers comply with licensing requirements
· Supervise the conduct of personnel, volunteers, and other individuals providing services within the program
· Appoint and inform the personnel in charge when the director is not present at the facility
· Maintain up-to-date information on all staff on the Oklahoma Professional Development Registry (OPDR)
· Oversee and encourage parent communication and family engagement
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
