We're hiring the senior-most engineer on our Service Desk — a true generalist. Serving SMB clients as an MSP means fluid needs and changing demands every day: Windows Server in the morning, a Microsoft 365 tenant at noon, a firewall rule after lunch, a line-of-business app before close. You're the escalation point the desk relies on — within the Service Desk, the buck stops with you.
What you'll do:
- Own the hardest escalations on the Service Desk across servers, systems, networks, cloud, and applications.
- Troubleshoot Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP, and Hyper-V.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure services for our clients.
- Resolve network issues — firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs, VLANs — across many client sites.
- Support line-of-business applications and coordinate with vendors on the client's behalf.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement lasting fixes, not band-aids.
- Mentor Service Desk technicians and raise the technical bar of the team.
- Hand off project-level architecture and implementation cleanly to our Projects Team.
What we're looking for:
- 3–5 years of hands-on IT experience across support, infrastructure, or MSP roles — required.
- Demonstrated experience across several domains — servers, networking, Microsoft 365/cloud, end-user systems — not just one specialty.
- Confident troubleshooting of Windows Server, AD, and Group Policy; solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, wireless).
- Working fluency with Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID; exposure to Intune and Azure.
- Strong documentation habits and clear, friendly client communication.
- MSP or multi-client experience is a strong plus; Network+, Microsoft certifications, or CCNA are a plus — real-world results matter most.
Your growth path: This role is the top of our Service Desk and the front door to our technical ladder. Strong Systems Engineers are first in line for our Projects Team — and from there, the path leads to Consulting Systems Engineer, the most senior technical role at 3Nines. We promote from within.
This probably isn't the right fit if your experience is concentrated in a single domain, or your background is primarily Tier 1 help desk (password resets, printer issues) without deeper escalation work.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CDT, with a periodic on-call rotation.
